Improvements of population health in China have been unevenly distributed among different sexes and regions. Mortality Registration System provides an opportunity for timely assessments of mortality trend and inequalities. Causes of death were reclassified following the method of Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD). Age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) and ring-map of the rate by town were used to describe inequalities in changing mortality. Life expectancy (LE) and cause-deleted LE were calculated on the basis of life table technique. The burden of death from 2002 to 2018 was dominated by cardiovascular diseases (CVD), neoplasms, chronic respiratory diseases and injuries in Jiading district, accounting for almost 80% of total deaths. The overall ASMR dropped from 407.6/100000 to 227.1/100000, and LE increased from 77.86 years to 82.31 years. Women lived about 3.0–3.5 years longer than men. Besides, a cluster of lower LE was found for CVD in the southeast corner and one cluster for neoplasms in the southern corner of the district. The largest individual contributor to increment in LE was neoplasms, ranged from 2.41 to 3.63 years for males, and from 1.60 to 2.36 years for females. Improvement in health was mainly attributed to the decline of deaths caused by CVD and neoplasms, but was distributed with sex and town. This study served as a reflection of health inequality, is conducive to formulate localized health policies and measures.

The construction of hydrogen refueling stations is an important part of the promotion of fuel cell vehicles. In this paper, a multi-period hydrogen refueling station location model is presented that can be applied to the planning and construction of hydrogen infrastructures. Based on the hydrogen demand of fuel cell passenger cars and commercial vehicles, the model calculates the hydrogen demand of each zone by a weighting method according to population, economic level and education level. Then, the hydrogen demand of each period is calculated using the generalized Bass diffusion model. Finally, the set covering model is improved to determine the locations of the stations. The new model is applied to the scientific planning of hydrogen refueling stations in Jiading District, Shanghai; the construction location and sequence of hydrogen refueling stations in each period are given, and the growth trend of hydrogen demand and the promoting effect of hydrogen refueling stations are analyzed. The model adopted in this model is then compared with the other two kinds of node-based hydrogen refueling station location models that have previously been proposed.

It has been shown that dexmedetomidine (Dex) could attenuate postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) via targeting circular RNAs (circRNAs). Circ-Shank3 has been found to be involved in the neuroprotective effects of Dex against POCD. However, the role of circ-Shank3 in POCD remains largely unknown. Reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was performed to detect circ-Shank3 and miR-140-3p levels in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated microglia BV-2 cells in the absence or presence of Dex. The relationship among circ-Shank3, miR-140-3p and TLR4 was confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Additionally, Western blot and immunofluorescence (IF) assays were conducted to evaluate TLR4, p65 and Iba-1 or CD11b levels in cells. In this study, we found that Dex notably decreased circ-Shank3 and TLR4 levels and elevated miR-140-3p level in LPS-treated BV2 cells. Mechanistically, circ-Shank3 harbor miR-140-3p, functioning as a miRNA sponge, and then miR-140-3p targeted the 3’-UTR of TLR4. Additionally, Dex treatment significantly reduced TLR4 level and phosphorylation of p65, and decreased the expressions of microglia markers Iba-1 and CD11b in LPS-treated BV2 cells. As expected, silenced circ-Shank3 further reduced TLR4, p65 and Iba-1 and CD11b levels in LPS-treated BV2 cells in the presence of Dex, whereas these phenomena were reversed by miR-140-3p inhibitor. The lifetime of electronic coherences found in photosynthetic antennas is known to be too short to match the energy transfer time, rendering the coherent energy transfer mechanism inactive. Exciton-vibrational coherence time in excitonic dimers which consist of two chromophores coupled by excitation transfer interaction, can however be much longer. Uncovering the mechanism for sustained coherences in a noisy biological environment is challenging, requiring the use of simpler model systems as proxies. Here, via two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy experiments, we present compelling evidence for longer exciton-vibrational coherence time in the allophycocyanin trimer, containing excitonic dimers, compared to isolated pigments. This is attributed to the quantum phase synchronization of the resonant vibrational collective modes of the dimer, where the anti-symmetric modes, coupled to excitonic states with fast dephasing, are dissipated. The decoupled symmetric counterparts are subject to slower energy dissipation. The resonant modes have a predicted nearly 50% reduction in the vibrational amplitudes, and almost zero amplitude in the corresponding dynamical Stokes shift spectrum compared to the isolated pigments. Our findings provide insights into the mechanisms for protecting coherences against the noisy environment.
